2 reels recorded at the benefit night for the Passionfruit Theatre Company  in  Athlone. The Mason’s Apron and Carthy’s reel, with Stephen Ducke (flute) and Bean Dolan (guitar) We learnt these tunes from the music of Micho Russell, whistle and flute player from Doolin in Co. Clare.

Kevin Burke (Fiddle)

Irish Fiddler. Born in London of parents from Co. Sligo, Kevin Burke started playing fiddle at the age of 8. He developed a virtuosic playing style influenced by that of Sligo. He replaced Tommy Peoples in The Bothy Band, and recorded two albums with Michael O’Domhnaill.

Two reels recorded during our workshops last August. The Flower of the Flock was played by Matt Molloy in The Bothy Band. Dan Breen’s Reel is also known as the West Clare Reel and was recorded by Flook and Micho Russell.
