“The Armagh Pipers’ Club” a été fondé en 1966 par un groupe d’enthusiastes de musique itraditionnelle irlandaise, avec Brian Vallely et sa femme Eithne. Son but était de faire revivre et promouvoir la cornemuse irlandaise (uilleann pipes) et la musique irlandaise en générale.
Leurs élèves ont participé aux Fleadhs et coimpetitions, et le groupe a organisé des concerts partout dans l’Europe.
Actuellement l’association mets en place des cours hebdomadaires pour plus de 200 élèves, et organise des festivals tels que “The William Kennedy Piping Festival”.
The Armagh Pipers’ Club was founded in 1966 by a group of Irish traditional music enthusiasts, led by Brian Vallely and his wife Eithne. The goal of the group was to revive the uilleann pipes, and Irish music in general. Their students have participated in Fleadhs and competitions, and the group has organised concerts all over Europe.
Today the club organises weekly classes for over 200 students, and organises festivals such as “The William Kennedy Piping Festival”.
Originally from Athlone in County Roscommon, Stephen Ducke now lives in a small village in the French Alps with his family.
He is author of a tin whistle tutor book entitled "Tin Whistle - A Complete Guide to Playing Irish Traditional Music on the Whistle" and runs Irish music classes and workshops with Tradschool in France. He has recorded one solo album, "If There Weren't Any Women In The World".
