New Tune a Day Blog

“New Tune a Day” is a blog by fiddler Katie Davis Henderson, of the group Killarney. She regularly posts videos of Irish traditional tunes, and also Scottish and Old-Time music – on average 4-5 tunes per week

Katie started playing fiddle at the age of 4 with the family group “Fiddlesticks”;  they released several CDs together. She now plays in the Irish trad duo Killarney, with octave mandolin player Colin Botts.They released an album, Pull the Knife, in March 2011.

Her blog is an interesting source of tunes, both standards and lesser-known. Below, she plays the reel “The Old Maid of Galway”.
