Paddy Keenan live in Athlone this Friday
This is a reminder that uilleann piper Paddy Keenan, accompanied by Eoghan Scott, will play the Passionfruit Theatre in Athlone this Friday 24 February 2012. Generally recognised as one of the most influential musicians of his generation, Paddy's musical style has continued to mature in the intervening years since the break-up of The Bothy Band as he has pursued a solo career and performed at festivals throughout the world, as well as at various concerts, benefits and tionals (piping festivals)
UK Première of Music Documentary - Beautiful People
This year's 2012 Manchester Irish Festival will stage the UK première of an Irish Music documentary filmed in New York, Beautiful People. The Film is directed by Elzbieta Szoka and Produced by Sam Adelman of Paradox Smoke productions. Elzbieta will be flying over from New York to attend the screening and meet audience members.

The VIP screening will take place at one of the festival’s main entertainment hubs – M19 Bar in Levenshulme on Wednesday 7th March. Noel Hill Live in Galway Tonight Irish concertina player and winner of 2011 TG4 Gradam Ceolil, Noel Hill, will play in Club Aras na nGael in Galway tonight live in Galway tonight.

Noel is from County Clare, and is one of Ireland's foremost stylists on the concertina. He has recorded two solo albums, and albums with Tony Linnane and Tony McMahon, and teaches concertina throughout Ireland and the US. He was called the "greatest concertina player in Ireland" by Séamus Ennis.
