Tradschool is organising an Irish fiddle workshop with Patrick Ourceau the weekend of May 11, 2012, at the Gîte de Chasteuil in Provence, France.
A member of the group Chulrua, Patrick was born and raised in France and moved to the US in 1989, where he played with and was influenced by musicians like Andy McGann and Jack Coen. Influenced greatly by the music of Clare and East Galway, he has frequently travelled to Ireland. Over the years, he has during those trips, been able to play with and learn from Paddy Canny, as well as from many other local musicians including flute and fiddle player Peadar O'Loughlin.
In 2004 he released Live at Mona's a live recording project praised by critics and fans alike as one of the best recent releases of Irish traditional music.He has taght at workshops during the Fleadh Nua in Ennis, and with the Armagh Piper's Club, as well as in many high-profile events in the US and Canada.
The workshop is taking place over 2 days, from Friday night to Sunday morning, with meals and accomodation included.
